Shootsta appoints head of content

Video production company Shootsta has appointed its first head of content, Melissa De Coster.

Global communication tech scale-up Shootsta has appointed Melissa De Coster as its new Head of Content.

The role, created in response to COVID-19, will see De Coster pioneer new content initiatives from Shootsta aimed at both educating professionals on effective content marketing practices during the pandemic and also demonstrating the value for brands of a broader content strategy. She will report to recently appointed Shootsta Global VP of Marketing, Lauren Stephenson.

De Coster will initially helm two projects: The Shootsta Show, a weekly, live video series on the latest tips and best practices in video content and Digital Transformers, a podcast talking to top thought-leaders in digital disruption.

De Coster joined Shootsta in 2017 as a creative video strategist. Prior to this role she worked at publisher Bauer Media as a digital video producer and as a television producer at Red Pepper Media in Belgium.

“Melissa’s appointment is essentially us practising what we preach,” Shootsta CEO Mike Pritchett said.

“There is no better way to show the value of content, video and digital disruption during this time than to lead by example. Melissa’s background in editorial content, business communication strategy and video creation make her indispensable for this role. We’re thrilled to see her step up to the challenge,” Pritchett said.

De Coster added: “This is an incredibly exciting new direction for Shootsta. In both the show and the podcast, we’ll be looking to spotlight the best practices in all forms of content creation.”

Launched in 2015, Shootsta provides companies, a professional editing solution, training and resources, a tech platform for uploading and storing video (The Shootsta Hub) and an optional camera kit or the ability to hire camera operators.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Shootsta has expanded its offering, now helping companies produce podcasts, animations and digital events. Shootsta operates out of five global offices located in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, San Diego and London.
