Developed by independent creative agency Mr Mumbles and strategic consultancy Mext, the campaign ‘Energy that works with you,’ attempts to convey the emotions customers experience when they feel in control of their energy usage and therefore expenditure.

The ad features yellow, green and blue animated characters interacting playfully with a family while helping them effectively use electricity via installing solar panels and then showing the benefits this provides the family as they go about their day.

“The energy industry is in a state of transformation so it’s important for us to partner with our customers to help them take control of their energy usage and provide more transparency around the process,” said Jody Doran, marketing manager of Simply Energy.

Andrew Town, creative partner of Mr Mumbles said: “The new characters represent a fun way to humanise the brand and bring it to life in a charming, unexpected way.”

The campaign will include a 30-second brand spot as well as a series of 15-second retail spots. It will run in Victoria and South Australia across broadcast, online and print, with life-size promotional characters to further support the brands sponsorships.
