Sorbent pays homage to its original advertising in Thinkerbell’s ‘Our Favourite Down Under’ campaign

Toilet paper brand Sorbent has payed homage to its classic ’90s advertising in its ‘Our Favourite Down Under’ campaign by Thinkerbell.

The 30 second television ad features a man travelling through the Amazon, over the Pacific and in a futuristic Tokyo toilet while experiencing uncomfortable bathroom situations.

‘Our Favourite Down Under’ uses the same music from the brand’s original 1990s ads.

Margie Reid, managing partner at Thinkerbell said the ad aims to give Australians plenty of distinctive brand cues.

“Sorbent is a classic Australian brand with a history of memorable advertising. Sorbent’s quest for the perfect toilet experience was something we wanted to pay homage to in this latest campaign.”

Ben Couzens, chief creative officer at Thinkerbell, added: “Sorbent is a feel-good brand that, well, makes your bum feel good. So, it really deserves a simple feel-good campaign to match. We’ve purposefully stayed close to the style of advertising that has helped make Sorbent such a household name.”

Angela Thorpe, marketing manager at Sorbent, said Thinkerbell managed to deliver an ad which incorporates the brand DNA in a modern and contemporary way. “Thinkerbell has been a brilliant partner to work with, the team helped us to deliver Sorbent’s inner magic, and we love the result.”
