South Australia’s Country Fire Service urges people to plan for bushfires

“Why risk it, do your five-minute bushfire plan today” is the message for South Australians in the Country Fire Service’s 2018 campaign warning the state’s residents of the need to be prepared during the summer fire season.

Publicising the agency’s five minute, do it yourself, bushfire plan service, the ad features various people justifying why they haven’t prepared a bushfire plan.

“As summer progresses and the landscape continues to dry out, growth from winter and spring rains creates an abundance of fuel for bushfires,” says the commentary on the service’s YouTube channel.

“If you live in, travel through or visit bushfire risk areas it is critical that you recognise the need to have a plan and be prepared. We know the risk is real, we know the consequences can be both devastating and terrifying, so why risk it? Make your Five-Minute Plan today.”
