Stake appoints Clemenger BBDO Sydney to its creative without a pitch

Digital stock trading platform, Stake, has appointed Clemenger BBDO Sydney to its creative account without a pitch.

Stake’s global head of marketing, Bryan Wilmot, previously worked with the agency’s CEO, Pete Bosilkovski, during the latter’s tenure as CEO of Leo Burnett. Following Bosilkovki’s move to become chief executive of Y&R, Wilmot came over too as head of strategy. Wilmot took up his role at Stake following Bosilkovski’s departure from the merged agency with VML.

Bosilkovski said the agency “fell in love” with Stake’s ambition.

“When we first met Bryan and Stake’s co-founder and CEO Matt Leibowitz we absolutely fell in love with their bold disruptive ambition,” he said.

“Stake doesn’t look, sound or smell like a financial services company. It has become a pioneer of the zero brokerage movement in Australia, breaking down all barriers and bringing the world’s biggest share market to Australian investors.

“We can’t wait to bring to life the attitude and distinctive Stake brand story and share it with Australians. We are thrilled to partner with Bryan and Matt.”

Clemenger BBDO Sydney will develop the creative that will launch the next phase of growth for the brand. The upcoming campaign will involve digital video, radio and out-of-home.

Wilmot said: “Clems really understood our ambition to build a meaningful brand that steps beyond ‘fintech’ while fuelling our customer growth in the short-term.

“They also worked closely with us to develop a new client x agency model that will enable quicker, smarter output without sacrificing on the creative firepower we’re hungry for. We’re extremely excited to see this partnership come to life.”

Last week it was announced Streets had expanded its partnership with Clemenger BBDO Sydney, appointing it the creative account for Weis on top of its account with Blue Ribbon ice cream. The agency also recently won the creative account for Seafood Industry Australia.

Earlier this year, Stake hired another Leo Burnett alum, James Healey, as head of content and community.
