Stan Sport celebrates Wallabies vs England series with new campaign via PostMatch

Stan Sport is celebrating its 4K streamed coverage of the Wallabies v England rugby series with the launch of a new campaign created and produced by sports-focused creative agency PostMatch.

The campaign will be fronted by Wallabies prop Taniela Tupou, juxtaposing the brute force of the Wallabies against English sensibility in a tongue-in-cheek spot.

The spot features a mud-covered Tupou crashing into England supporter’s high tea party and reflects Stan Sport’s fun and light-hearted take on sport and entertainment, aiming to cut through the noise using humour and cheekiness, poking fun at sunburnt English fans.

The campaign will roll out across TV, digital (YouTube and Social), as well as a static campaign across outdoor.

Commenting on Stan’s 4K UHD broadcast of the Wallabies v England series, Stan director of Sport, Ben Kimber, said: “In a massive month of Rugby, we’re extremely pleased to be offering crystal clear 4K broadcasts for these Wallabies matches. Stan Sport continues to deliver for fans with more rugby in the one place than ever before. Fresh from enjoying stunning UHD pictures for the UEFA Champions League and Roland Garros, Stan Sport customers will once again be tuning in to the best sport streaming platform experience in the country.”

Rugby Australia CEO, Andy Marinos, added: “Rugby Australia is always looking for ways that we can innovate – and our partnership with Stan Sport and the Nine Entertainment Company is an example of that. We were the first sport in this country to combine free-to-air television and streaming as part of the same broadcast package. Stan Sport’s delivery of 4K UHD streaming coverage of the upcoming Wallabies tests is an example of the innovation that this partnership is yielding.”
