Starcom promotes within to find new chief operating officer

Starcom’s national head of operations and investment, Louise Romeo, has been elevated to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Effective immediately, Romeo will be charged with developing and establishing nationally standardised policies and procedures across the agency’s workflow, with the aim of advancing client efficiencies.

Joining Starcom in the later half of 2020, Romeo began as chief client officer for Procter & Gamble, who recently reappointed the agency, before moving into the national head of operations and investment role last year.

She will be responsible for identifying new ways of working through the utilisation of technologies and platforms that further promote staff collaboration and productivity.

Nick Keenan, Starcom’s CEO, said Romeo had delivered outstanding results at Starcom and he was excited to see her contribution grow.

“She is process-focused and an operation powerhouse, so we look forward to her contribution in this new role and her continued leadership in supporting our team and clients,” he said.

Romeo will also lead the agency’s investment proposition, working to deliver leading products and trading, as well as building strong client relationships to drive business outcomes.

She said it’s a privilege to step into the new role.

“As we continue to drive our unique ‘people powered growth’ proposition in market, I’m delighted to be able to deliver on this with our amazing talent and clients,” she said.

“My focus will be on operational excellence and innovative ways of working that result in successful business outcomes for some of the best brands in Australia,” Romeo concluded.
