STW Group buys stake in digital agency Fusion
Marketing giant STW Group has expanded its capabilities in digital by taking a minority stake in Adelaide-based digital agency Fusion.
Fusion has 28 staff, offices in Adelaide and Sydney and a client list that includes Santos, People’s Choice Credit Union and ARUP.
The deal also sees STW Group form an alliance with Sydney brand agency Shift, with some Fusion staff working out of Shift’s offices in Redfern.
Fusion was founded by John Chaplin and Damien Mair in 1995, and was one of the first digital agencies to open in Australia.
STW’s chief executive, Mike Connaghan said: “Fusion is an outstanding full-service digital business with an incredible track record of producing innovative digital work. With capabilities across the digital spectrum and a strong design bent, Fusion is a welcome addition to STW’s powerful and diverse digital ecosystem.”
STW Group’s other recent investments in digital marketing include Amblique, Bullseye and Switch on Media, while Melbourne-based digital agency DT opened a Sydney office.
“Fusion adds further grunt and capabilities to this fast-growth sector in key digital battlegrounds, including mobile and experiential,” Connaghan said.

You sell, STW pay you a multiple that is usually made up of you company’s ongoing profits. i.e: the seller gets a hit of cash in the initial transaction paid by your own earnings overs 3-4 years…but other than training, thats it.
you do not get any business expansion of clients through the STW group!
