Survivor outguns Idol in Monday metro ratings

In a continuing battle between Australian Survivor and Australian Idol, the Ten show had the upper hand on Monday night as it aired to 474,000 metro viewers. Meanwhile, the latter aired to 422,000.

The two programs have had close metro ratings since launch,  however, it was Nine’s Married At First Sight (MAFS), launched at the same time as Survivor and Idol, that won the night’s entertainment ratings. The show attracted 885,000 metro viewers on Monday night, and won all three key advertising demos.

Following MAFS in entertainment was Seven’s Home and Away, which brought in 496,000 metro viewers last night.

Seven’s The Chase Australia also attracted 461,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Monday was Seven News at 6:30 with 902,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News with 886,000, Nine News at 6:30 with 797,000 and Nine News with 740,000.

Nine network won the overall share with 32.6%, followed by Seven with 25.2%, Ten with 17.8% and ABC with 16.9%.

The top primary channel was Nine with 26.1%, but the top multichannel was 7Two with 3.8%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 20 February, MAFS last Monday was the #1 program nationally across Total TV, with 1.792 million viewers, including 566,000 on BVOD and the biggest uplift of 60%.
