Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras adds P&G as sponsor

Proctor & Gamble (P&G) has announced a three-year partnership with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (Mardi Gras) ahead of the parade on 5 March, extending into Sydney World Pride in 2023.

As part of the partnership, P&G’s Pantene, Fairy, Oral-B, Gillette and Olay will co-produce content with the aim to raise awareness about the diverse issues faced by different members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and to drive a call for action from the broader community to Lead With Love.

The content will roll out between February and March 2022.

One of the co-produced pieces of content can be seen below.

P&G Australia, New Zealand senior vice president and general manager P&G Australia Kumar Venkatasubramanian said: “We are proud to partner with Sydney Mardi Gras, to help bring visibility, raise awareness and break down bias for the LGBTQIA+ community. We are committed to championing LGBTQIA+ visibility that accurately and authentically portrays sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.”

The news follows the announcement of Optus as the Premier Network partner with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Ooh Media as the official Out of Home media partner.

Mardi Gras is set to be broadcasted on to the ad-free ABC. The decision to broadcast on ABC does not change any of Mardi Gras’ sponsorship deals.
