Ten beats Nine in Thursday TV ratings thanks to The Bachelor and Gogglebox
Ten has beaten Nine in Thursday night’s TV ratings with an overall primary channel audience share of 18.4% ahead of Nine’s 17.7%.
The channel won the second place slot for the night with the help of its flagship reality series The Bachelor, which was the most watched non-news program for the evening with 835,000 metro viewers tuning in.
According to OzTam’s overnight preliminary ratings The Bachelor was also the most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Airing at 7.30pm, The Bachelor topped its time slot and pulled a higher metro audience than Seven’s 523,000 for Home and Away and Nine’s Driving Test, which failed to make the top 20 programs for the day.
Ten’s Gogglebox also helped the channel to its 18.4% audience share as it managed 615,000 metro viewers at 9.00pm.
Gogglebox also won its time slot, topping Seven’s The Shawshank Redemption and Nine’s 472,000 for The Footy Show.
Meanwhile, Seven News at 6pm was Thursday’s most watched program with 868,000 metro viewers, beating Nine News’ 818,000.
Seven won the Thursday TV ratings battle with an overall audience share of 19.4%, topping Ten’s 18.4% share, Nine’s 17.7%, ABC’s 11.1% and SBS’ 5.5% share.
