Ten officially announces Lisa Squillace as national sales director

Ten has formally annouced the appointment of Lisa Squillace as its head of network sales, following the settling of a legal dispute between the network and Squillace’s former employer, Seven West Media.

The sales exec was most recently Seven’s director of program partnerships, where she was responsible for monetisation across the entire network. Squillace left her role in October. At the time, Mumbrella understood she would be taking up a role with Ten.

However the announcement was delayed by a legal dispute between Squillace and Seven, which began when she wanted to move across to the role with Ten before the end of her non-compete period.

The court documents showed Seven was ordered to pay $69,867.14 gross less applicable tax to Squillace, but that she would not be able to start her new role with Ten until February.

Today, Ten revealed Squillace would be starting her role on February 11, and will report into chief sales officer Rod Prosser.

On the announcement, Prosser said: “It’s brilliant to be introducing someone of Lisa’s calibre to the team. The national sales director role is a significant one as we take control of our sales function once again.

“Lisa is a proven leader with extensive sales experience across all broadcast platforms. Her knowledge of the national market and enthusiasm for the industry makes her the ideal person to lead the national team.

“I can’t wait for her to join the Network and elevate Ten’s commercial proposition in market. Along with Paul [Anderson] and the leadership team at Ten, we look forward to welcoming Lisa back to where her career began.”

Prior to Seven, Squillace was Nine’s group sales manager for several years. She began her career at Ten, where she spent five years in various sales roles.

Squillace said: “I am so excited to be re-joining Network Ten. Not only is this a once in a lifetime opportunity to build and relaunch a sales team, but to do this where I first started my career is very special. I’m really looking forward to working with Rod, the market sales directors and the rest of the team to deliver first-class results for our clients and the business.”

The appointment completes Ten’s sales leadership team, which includes sales directors for Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Tamar Hovagimian will lead commercial partnerships arm Ten Effect, with Grant Madigan as director of Ten Exchange (commerce and revenue), Christian Williams as director of Ten Interactive (digital) and Michael Stanford as national creative director, leading Ten Imagine, Ten’s creative solutions hub.
