Ten wins Tuesday’s TV but Nine’s Home Made improves slightly

Nine’s struggling Home Made improved its audience slightly on Tuesday night, although it remained below a million viewers.

The home renovations show pulled in an average of 969,000 metro viewers into its 7.30pm slot, according to preliminary TV ratings from OzTam. This was slightly up on last Tuesday’s 860,000 for Home Made, but still well behind other networks at the same time.

Ten won the 7.30 battle – and the night – with Talkin Bout Your Generation the most watched show of the evening pulling in more than 1.6m viewers. And Seven’s The Zoo rated nearly 1.5m in the slot.

Meanwhile, MasterChef Australia also remained strong for Ten, with nearly 1.3m viewers.

And Ten’s often fickle audience chose to stay for the night rather than moving on after Masterchef and Talking Bout Your Generation. NCIS rated more than 1.5m.

Tuesday night’s peak share: Ten 29.5%; Seven 27.8%; Nine 23.8%; ABC 14.6%; SBS 4.3%. For the TV ratings week to date, Ten and Seven are neck and neck with 27.6% each. Nine is on 25.1%.

Meanwhile, the commercial networks will be expecting to lose a chunk of their audience to the ABC tonight, with the much anticipated return of The Chaser’s War on Everything at 9pm.
