Ten’s Brock sheds 300,000 viewers as The Block wins the night

Part two of Ten’s drama Brock, which details the life of Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock, shed 300,000 metro viewers last night, with the conclusion to the series pulling in just 526,000 at 9:00pm.

The series conclusion was well down on part one, which aired on Sunday evening to a metro audience of 828,000.

Brock was out-rated by Seven’s Australian drama series The Secret Daughter, which at 8:40pm was watched by 831,000, slightly down on its launch audience of 899,000.

The Secret Daughter also beat Nine’s Australian drama thriller series Hyde & Seek which from 8:40pm grabbed 694,000 metro viewers, down on last week’s audience of 878,000.

Earlier in the evening, Seven’s X Factor was watched by 833,000 from 7:30pm, down on last week’s audience of 904,000.

It was out-rated by The Block which pulled in 1.008m to be the most-watched non-news program of the evening.

Both shows beat Ten’s Australian Survivor which was watched by 760,000.

The Block and Australian Survivor were the top two most watched shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

Australian Survivor was out-rated by the ABC’s 7.30 which grabbed 766,000 metro viewers.

Nine just managed to win the night with a share of 19.9%, ahead of Seven’s share of 19.7%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 15.6% while the ABC settled for a share of 14.3%.

At 7:00pm, Nine’s A Current Affair grabbed 905,000, easily beating Seven’s Home & Away, which was watched by 705,000.

On the ABC, Australian Story (8:00pm) was watched by 816,000, Four Corners (8:30pm) grabbed 615,000 and Media Watch (9:20pm).

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm had an audience of 1.025m slipping to 996,000 from 6:30pm while Nine News at 6:00pm was watched by 990,000, growing to 1.013m from 6:30pm.
