The 6AM Agency ECD Nitin Mistry and social head Sarah Bell quit following CEO exit

6AM Agency’s first ever creative director Nitin Mistry has quit following the departure of its chief executive officer Adam Washington.

Mistry first joined the agency in November last year, when he was recruited by the newly-appointed Washington in an effort to improve the public relations agency’s integrated offering.

His exit coincides with that of Sarah Bell, the agency’s head of social, who only joined in February this year.

Mistry, who Mumbrella understands has moved to Brisbane to work as a freelance creative director, had previously worked with Washington at digital agency Deepend.

Meanwhile, Bell has returned to Digitas, where she was Asia-Pacific head of social operations, to take on the role of social head APAC.

In a statment to Mumbrella, 6AM founder and director Gillian Fish said: “The 6AM Agency has had a significant year of growth, achieved during a period of rapid change. This business is evolving fast from a pure PR heritage to a modern, integrated communications agency with deep earned and owned specialisation.

“The business achieved double digit revenue growth last financial year over the previous period, added important new clients in both our wellbeing and good living specialisation, and beyond.

“As we have evolved, we’ve made several new hires from varying streams in communications including above-the-line, digital, creative and strategy as we’ve pushed out and expanded our capabilities and services.

“Like any agency going through rapid change, some of these new hires have endured, and some have not. That’s the life of a fast growing, rapidly evolving modern communications business which is integrating multiple services.”

The 6AM Agency rebranded from Brand New Solutions when the former COO of STW Communications and founder of Ogilvy PR Australia Chris Savage took a stake in the agency in November 2016.

One year later The 6AM Agency recruited Washington to take over as CEO, who was said to be leading its “evolution from pure PR to integrated creative communications”.

Both Mistry and Bell have been contacted for comment.
