The Biggest Loser beats Excess Baggage in day two of weight loss battle
Ten’s The Biggest Loser beat Nine’s Excess Baggage in the second night the two weight loss shows went head-to-head in the 7pm time slot.
The Biggest Loser rated 711,703 in 11th place for total viewers across the five city metro while Excess Baggage – which won its Monday night premier – took 625,410 in 15th place.
In terms of audience share, Biggest Loser took 15%, while Excess Baggage claimed 13%.
Elsewhere, Seven held the top four spots with Seven’s My kitchen Rules winning the night with 1.465m viewers and a 30% share.
Seven News took 1.251m, Today Tonight 1.099m and Home and Away – again beating both weight loss shows – claiming an audience of 1.093m.
The inaugural Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, airing at 9.30pm on Nine took 314,087 with 13% share.

The AACTA awards were terrible – all those big stars, the opera house and still Richard Wilkins made it look like an infomercial. Some of the clumsiest product integration I’ve seen in along time.
