The Bledisloe Cup All Blacks vs Wallabies game a win for Nine

The Bledisloe Cup game on Nine which saw the New Zealand All Blacks claim victory 37-39 against Australia’s Wallabies at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne topped non-news programming on Thursday night.

The match saw 524,000 metro viewers tune in, while also winning key advertising demo 16-39s. The pre-match game was watched by an average metro audience of 356,000. The game recorded a Live BVOD audience of 63,000, an increase of 92% YoY.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 8 September, Thursday’s episode of Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.350 million viewers, including 34,000 on BVOD and uplift of 3%. Gogglebox on Ten had the biggest uplift of 32% and was viewed by a total audience of 794,000.

Looking back at Thursday’s ratings, an episode of Home and Away on Seven was next in non-sport entertainment with a metro audience of 462,000, followed by Seven’s The Chase Australia which brought in 458,000 metro viewers.

Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 metro program on Thursday, airing to 869,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News with 860,000 metro viewers, while Nine News had 752,000 metro viewers, and Nine News at 6:30 had 749,000.

In overall network share, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 30.9% over Seven’s 28.7%, while Ten took a 17.2% share and the ABC had 14.6%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Thursday was 9Gem 4.1%.
