The Block continues to top entertainment as Nine wins Wednesday

Nine’s The Block was the #1 entertainment program on Wednesday night, as the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

This is the fourth night in a row that the renovation show has remained at the #1 spot in entertainment. The Block brought in a metro audience of 861,000, while also winning all key advertising demos.

An episode of ABC’s Gruen was next in entertainment, pulling in a metro audience of 647,000, followed by an episode of Seven’s Home And Away which had 583,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s The Chase Australia brought in 457,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s Highway Patrol had a metro audience of 415,000. Ten’s Bachelorette episode had a metro audience of 253,000. The Bachelorette premiere aired to 397,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Wednesday was Seven News at 6:30pm which had 918,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News which aired to 903,000.

Nine News had 845,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 had 834,000, both with a lower audience viewing than Wednesday night’s episode of The Block.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 31.9% over Seven’s 25.9%, while the ABC had 17.8% and Ten took a 14.9% share.

Nine won the primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channel on Wednesday was 9Gem with a share of 4.4%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 20 October, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.561 million viewers, including 34,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 2%.

The program with the biggest uplift however was Nine’s Love Island premiere episode which had a 99% uplift on overnight figures and a total of 593,000 viewers overall.
