The Hallway appoints Lyndell Sawyer as its first head of media

The Hallway has appointed its first head of media, Lyndell Sawyer, strengthening the agency’s media offering following the addition of new clients seeking the service.

Sawyer joins from McCann Worldgroup where she spent the last four years as national head of media.

Sawyer is the agency’s first head of media

In June, Foxtel’s new entertainment subscription streaming service, Binge, appointed The Hallway to manage its creative, media strategy and channel planning. The agency has also recently added the media strategy and channel planning for Foxtel’s sports streaming service, Kayo, to its remit.

Sawyer said: “I’m delighted to be joining The Hallway and lead their media offering at a time of significant growth in the business. The agency is firing and I look forward to bringing my years working in media to its broad range of clients.”

Previously, Sawyer was the digital media manager at independent agency Paykel Media, and she has also worked at Zenith Optimedia and News Corp Australia.

Jules Hall, CEO and founder of The Hallway said it was the right time to bring Sawyer on board.

“With significantly increasing demand for our media services the time is right for us to further build out our team. Lyndell’s extensive experience gained over many years at network and independent agencies makes her ideally suited to drive this part of our business forward,” he said.

In May, Hall announced on Mumbrella that the agency would continue working at home indefinitely, with no plans for its employees to return to an office.
