The Monthly: The essential title for military industrial complexes with time on their hands
Dr Mumbo has always been a big fan of The Monthly. And jet fighters. So the two come together perfectly this month, in an ad nestling next to the wise words of Robert Manne.
As Dr Mumbo’s correspondent puts it: “Take a look at page 11 of current issue of The Monthly. Yes, it’s an ad for an F35 Lockheed fighter Jet. And I was just saying the other day, I am all out of fighter jets at the moment and need to buy more this weekend. Hope Lockheed are open Saturday mornings and have floor stock.”
Not necessarily that unreasonable.
the readers of the monthly are inner-city, progressive, with a strong interest in public policy. What group does that overlap with under a Labor Government? The overwhelming majority of Ministers, backbenchers and political staff. If I wanted to get a message to them, the Monthly wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

And it might not work as well as the one you had before.
