The Slap gets Bafta nomination

Critically acclaimed ABC1 drama The Slap is in contention to win a gong at British TV awards show Bafta.

The adaption of Christos Tsiolkos’ novel is up against US series Modern Family and two Danish shows, The Killing and Borgen, in the International category.

The results will be announced on 27 May.

The Slap was recently named most outstanding drama series, miniseries or telemovie at the Logies, while Melissa George was named most outstanding actress.

The show also did well at the AACTAs earlier this year. It won best Telefeature, mini series or short run series, best lead actor in a TV drama for Alex Dimitriades, best TV screenplay and best guest or supporting actress in a TV drama for Diana Glenn.
