The Surfing Life launches iPad app

Morrison Media title The Surfing Life has launched what it claism is the first Australian iPad app for surfers.

The announcement:

Morrison Media’s first iPad application is out in the public domain. You can find The Surfing Life application on iTunes right here: http://www.surfinglife.com.au/apps/ipad

Or you can go into the iTunes/App store and search for Surfing Life.

The Surfing Life application is not simply a digital edition of the monthly magazine but rather a combination of the mag with rich media such as video and audio infused, plus some extra content not seen in print nor online.

The first app is free and contains a user experience survey but from this point on it’ll be sold and will include a limited amount of paid advertising.

This is a major milestone in many ways. Not only is this the first Australian surf and action sports iPad app, but Morrison Media is once again first to react to what promises to be a game-changing new publishing channel.

The company plans to roll out iPad apps for all its titles, with Riptide, Freerider and Slam on the near horizon. Frankie is also available on iPad via Zinio.

A video clip introducing the app can be viewed on the Surfing Life website, here:
