The Voice crushes third outing of Celebrity Splash

Nine’s The Voice continued to power on on Monday night, rating nearly 2m metro viewers and helping the network to a near 30 per cent share for the evening.

According to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTAM, the musical contest averaged 1.962m.

The next biggest program was Nine News, rating 1.41m.

Seven’s best performer was Seven News, which rated 1.342m.

Celebrity Splash began to sink for Seven, rating 821,000, losing half a million viewers on last Monday’s debut of 1.315m viewers and also down on last Tuesday’s 1.045m.

Revenge also had a slow night for Seven, rating 898,000, well behind Nine’s drama House Husbands which rated 1.155m.

Ten’s night was a poor one with The Biggest Loser rating 589,000, 18th for the night, and Can Of Worms 323,000, 32nd. In the network’s preferred battleground of 18-49, the shows did a little better – 9th and 18th for the night.

Nine’s share for the night was 29.4 per cent. Seven was on 20 per cent. Ten’s 10.2 per cent share was beaten by ABC1’s 13.8 per cent.

Nine also won the morning battle with Today outrating Sunrise by 353,000 to 324,000. However, Seven’s The Morning Show beat Mornings by 152,000 to 117,000.
