Think HQ brings research function in-house, appoints Dr Pauline Ho
Communications agency Think HQ has announced that it is bringing its research function in-house, and appointed Dr Pauline Ho to lead the operation.
Ho joins the agency as its strategy and insights manager, bringing a decade of experience working on large-scale research projects in areas including social policy, education and health.
Dr Ho’s most recent role saw her work as associate director – research and evaluation at Social Ventures Australia, while she has also worked for the Institute for Safety, Compensation and Recovery Research, the Australian Institute for Teaching & School Leadership and at Deakin University.
Think HQ founder and managing director, Jen Sharpe, said Dr Ho’s approach will fit in with Think HQ’s mission, and explained that she will work closely with the agency’s in-house teams.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have a researcher of Pauline’s calibre join us. Her approach is an ideal fit for our mission to create positive human outcomes through creating inclusive campaigns that represent and reflect every member of our multicultural society.
“Pauline is passionate about making high-quality research available to everyone and believes the most effective work happens when practitioners, researchers and governments work together to understand and solve challenging social problems.”
Dr Ho will lead Think HQ’s internationally certified research offering, and said she is looking forward to bringing her experience in “hard” research to Think HQ.
“Our goal is to change social outcomes, and that’s not easy. We can’t just go out and get numbers,” she said.
“The integrity of the work is important, and our methodologies ensure a rigorous process, but our efforts must also be personal, conversational, nuanced and honest.”
