Tourism Tasmania prepares to pitch creative account

Tourism Tasmania is preparing to put its creative account out to tender next month.

Sydney-based agency JimJim became Tourism Tasmania’s lead creative agency in December 2015.

At the time JimJam was awarded the account it was worth $2.98m.

Mumbrella understands JimJam will not be defending the account.

“We’ve had a wonderful journey over the past seven years, having defended the account previously. We’re incredibly proud of the work we’ve done, the results we’ve helped the state achieve and the friendships we’ve made.

“We wish John, Emma and all the team continued success for the future. For JimJam it now gives us a chance to look at other opportunities in the tourism sector – the first being our latest campaign for the Hunter Valley,” a spokesperson from the agency said in a statement.

Since winning the account, JimJam continued to evolve Tourism Tasmania’s long-standing line, Go Behind the Scenery, which initially launched in 2012.

Just four months ago, JimJam released a new campaign, ‘Feed Your Curious’, which featured a woman following a floating piece of paper as she has mystic experiences in Tasmania.

According to a tender notice, Tourism Tasmania is expecting to open a tender next month with the winning agency starting its contract in March 2019.

Meanwhile in May, Tourism Tasmania opened an RFI to “overhaul” its marketing program and deeply integrate data sources and personalised marketing channels into its campaigns.

Tourism Tasmania and JimJam have been approached for comment.
