Toyota LandCruiser 300 drives its users home in latest ad
Toyota Australia has released a new campaign for its LandCruiser 300 created by Publicis’ Saatchi & Saatchi.
The ‘This Landcruiser drives us home’ campaign features a song aimed at highlighting different Australian experiences: from experiencing a 50-year storm to being trapped by a swarm of mozzies (mosquitos).
In the 60-second spot, people sing acapella in various predicaments – a meteor shower, no phone reception, and sinking in quicksand. The spot concludes with “One thing’s without a doubt, this LandCruiser drives us home”, followed by the “Oh what a feeling, Toyota” tagline.
Toyota Australia vice president, national sales, marketing & franchise operations Sean Hanley said: “This campaign represents the very essence of what LandCruiser stands for and I couldn’t be prouder of the team involved for bringing this to life in such an entertaining way.”
Saatchi & Saatchi Australia executive creative director Simon Bagnasco commented: “This campaign was driven by a simple truth. Lots of vehicles can get you to the most remote and beautiful parts of our country, but there’s only one we know that will always get us back home.”
The campaign is on broadcast, digital, out-of-home (OOH), print, CRM, sponsorships, radio and in-store.
The launch of this campaign follows the news last week that Toyota appointed Vin Naidoo as its chief marketing officer following the departure of John Pappas to Lexus.

THE worst add I’ve seen on tv for a very long time. I own a Toyota and I’m hanging my head in shame What we’re they thinking.

I truly agree about the fail landcruiser ad ,if I could afford one and was weighing up whether to buy it or another vehicle of similar price and performance, say a Nissan, that ad would have definitely swayed me away from the landcruiser. A bit like advertising Cowboys drinking Bundy Rum from champagne glasses around the yards at a rodeo. It just doesn’t fit.

I’m sold on Toyota vehicles but this ad is a put off. Just so bloody annoying!!

Toyota should have enlisted the marketing group used by Suzuki for its Vitars ad.
The Landcruiser ad is a second hand joke..
Try again!!!
