Toyota signs up for Fox Sports app

Toyota is to sponsor Fox Sports’ new iPad app.  

The announcement:

21 April, 2011: Multi Channel Network (MCN) today announced Toyota as the first and exclusive sponsor of FOX SPORTS’ new iPad app, FOX SPORTS View.

The iPad sponsorship deal, which commences on April 22, will run for six months and form part of Toyota’s integrated sponsorship of FOX SPORTS shows across TV and online for its Toyota Aurion brand.

MCN’s Sydney Sports Sales Manager Jamie Hollebone said: “Toyota will have access to FOX SPORTS’ growing audience on this new, in-demand media device. Subscribers will be able to jump on their iPads and catch up on the latest sports news any time of the day, from home, or when they’re out and about.

“The exclusivity of the sponsorship deal will open Toyota up to new FOX SPORTS audiences who can now access premium FOX SPORTS content when on the move. The addition of the iPad app will only further strengthen FOX SPORTS’ existing multi-platform offerings to both advertisers and its dedicated viewers.”

The FOX SPORTS View iPad app provides users with live 24/7 streaming of the FOX SPORTS News channel, premium and made for i-pad sports video content, the latest sports news clips, ‘watch later’ functionality, and full episodes of selected magazine shows including the Rugby Club, NRL on FOX and On the Couch.

Toyota Corporate Manager, Brand National Marketing, Adrian Weimers, said: “Toyota is a significant supporter of sport in this country and have had a long standing association with FOX SPORTS. This has been particularly the case with Toyota Aurion and FOX SPORTS News on-air and online. The FOX SPORTS View iPad app is an excellent extension to FOX SPORTS’ already extensive line up of sports news and is an excellent opportunity for Toyota to embrace such innovation in a highly-targeted environment.

“This six month, exclusive, multi-layered, on-air, online and iPad partnership, will continue to allow the Toyota Aurion to reach its predominantly male target market wherever, whenever and on whatever device they desire.”

FOX SPORTS, which has three dedicated channels as well as three HD channels, reaches 3.9 million viewers on average each week*. Almost half of its dedicated audience (46%) is made up of males aged 25 to 54.

FOX SPORTS View, which went live on January 6, 2011, is available for a monthly fee of $5.99 from iTunes.
