Travel publisher We Are Explorers receives B Corp certification

Travel publisher We Are Explorers are now B Corp Certified.

The announcement:

Powerful independent publisher We Are Explorers is now B Corp Certified. Last week, after an eight-month assessment period, they received their B Corp certification and joined a global community of next-generation companies who believe in using business as a force for good.

B Corps are certified changemakers. The rigorous assessment takes a deep dive into how a business operates and measures the positive impact the business is delivering for its people, the communities it serves, and the environment.

“We’re joining the ranks of companies that officially care; including Patagonia, Kathmandu, and Intrepid Travel. We’re very proud of this achievement. Making profit is absolutely fine, but failing to consider how our work impacts the world is not,” commented We Are Explorer’s Founder Henry Brydon.

Since the business’s inception in 2014, they’ve been on a mission to make a difference. Existing to inspire more Aussies to spend time outdoors and, in turn, become ambassadors for the natural world, purpose is at the core of everything they do.

We Are Explorers have completed a number of wildly positive projects over the years. One of the most successful being last year’s Crowdfunding project, where they worked with their highly engaged community to raise over $30,000 to buy and protect a hectare of rainforest in the Daintree. The 2020 community project is shaping up to be another success, set to be announced in the coming months.

“What’s important about our B Corp pledge is that it encourages us to constantly strive to be the best damn business we can. It’s our promise to play our part in creating a future we can all be excited about,” says Henry.

With this achievement under their belt, it’s clearer more than ever that We Are Explorers is solidly committed to creating a more inclusive and sustainable world.
