Triple M Footy welcomes new AFL commentators and sponsors

Triple M has bolstered its lineup of commentators for the 2021 AFL season, with the addition of two former players: Hawthorn’s Jason Dunstall and St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt.

Now in its 25th year, Triple M Footy returned over the weekend with live coverage of several games, and broadcasts available across the Triple M network and via Southern Cross Austereo’s new LiSTNR app.

Dunstall and Riewoldt join a commentary team that includes Luke Darcy, James Brayshaw, Xavier Ellis and Dale Thomas.

The former will also be a part of the Triple M Footy Friday Huddle, alongside Darcy, Mark Howard, Nathan Brown and Damian Barrett.

He will also fill in as a co-host on The Rush Hour when Brayshaw takes leave. The Rush Hour program takes place across Triple M’s metro stations, with Lachy Reid, Andrew Jarman, Andrew Embley and Bernie Vince also featuring as hosts.

SCA’s head of sports content, Ewan Giles, said: “Triple M is blessed to have some of the biggest names in the game on our commentary team. We take the game seriously, but not ourselves and that’s what Triple M footy listeners want.”

Triple M Footy has also added to its list of sponsor partners, with Harvey Norman the latest brand to ink a deal. Returning partners include McDonald’s, Rheem, Cbus Super and IGA Liquor.

Triple M Footy also continues its partnerships with AFL clubs the Adelaide Crows and the Fremantle Dockers, for which it will provide content integration and commercial activity, to ensure a high frequency of messaging for its partners.

“The long term nature of our many partners speaks to the return on investment of our offering,” added SCA’s national head of sport and partnerships, Trevor Crook.

“Put simply, Triple M Footy provides all partners with an effective, engaging and truly national seven month communication platform, at scale.”
