Triple M teams up with Slash to revamp classic theme song

Austereo’s Triple M has enlisted former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash to re-record the theme song used by the radio station throughout the eighties and nineties as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

The song, called “Dr Dan” will also see the revamp and return of its old logo which features Dr Dan as the image of a manlike figure with wings playing a guitar.

The return of the old theme song and logo will be for Triple M’s Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane stations – but will not include Adelaide.

Slash’s version of the song will be revealed next month. A listener from the three Triple M cities will get the chance to win a flight to Paris to meet Slash, attend his concert and deliver the newly-recorded Dr Dan theme to the respective Triple M studio.

Austereo has created a TV ad featuring Slash to push its 30th anniversary promotion.
