Turia Pitt named ambassador for Kathmandu Coast to Coast

Australian humanitarian and athlete Turia Pitt has been named as an ambassador for adventure and travel brand Kathmandu.

Pitt, who was caught in grassfire in 2011 and suffered burns to 65% of her body, will return to competitive events and run the Kathmandu Coast to Coast on New Zealand’s South Island in February 2019.

Pitt will compete at Kathmandu’s event early next year

Kathmandu’s Coast to Coast will be the first event Pitt participates in since the birth of her son.

“I’m stoked to be ambassador for Kathmandu’s Coast to Coast,” Pitt said.

“Having a goal like this to work towards is really important, and I want other females and mums, and all Australians for that matter, to get to enjoy the confidence and resilience boosts that come from challenging yourself in new ways.”

Paul Stern, Kathmandu’s general manager of marketing, said Pitt personified the brand’s values: integrity, determination and passion.

“We hope that Turia’s involvement will not only promote the Kathmandu Coast to Coast event internationally, but also inspire competitors of different ages and abilities to challenge themselves and participate in years to come,” Stern said.
