TV ratings wrap: Bachelor In Paradise finds a series high while Farmer and Ninja slip

The television networks are continuing to catch up on their missing TV ratings as OzTAM releases its figures from the last few days following a ransomware attack on Nielsen last week.

Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior delivered 848,000 metro viewers for its second night out on Monday, down from 1.040m for its premiere on Sunday. The show went up against Seven’s Farmer Wants a Wife which fell from 908,000 to 754,000. That same night saw Ten’s Bachelor in Paradise (BIP) deliver 517,000 – a high for its season.

The episode was also the biggest audience for the show since April 2019.

However, BIP went on to beat the milestone the next night, Tuesday 28 July, bringing in 576,000 metro viewers – its biggest audience in two years. Australian Ninja Warrior delivered 793,000 on the same night, while Seven aired America’s Got Talent for 379,000.

On Monday night, Nine may have won with the metro audiences, but Seven’s Farmer took the win nationally. Ninja delivered 1.126m nationally, while Farmer brought in 1.230m. BIP delivered 624,000 in the same slot. Ten also aired Have You Been Paying Attention? (HYBPA) which delivered 597,000 – a significant drop from 771,000 the week prior and 853,000 the week before that.

In the key advertising demographics of 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s on Monday night, BIP and HYBPA topped the youngest demo, while Ninja topped the 18-49s, followed by BIP. In the 25-54s, Nine News was the most-watched, followed by Ninja.

While Nine won the night in the channel audience share on Monday (21.3% against Seven’s 19.3%) it was Seven that won the network audience share (28.4% against Nine’s 28.1%), giving it the nightly win.

Tuesday night saw the second episode of Shaun Micallef’s On The Sauce air, delivering 595,000 metro viewers and 827,000 nationally. It’s a slight dip for the show from 661,000 for its premiere the week prior.

Ninja Warrior just managed to stay above 1m viewers nationally, while BIP delivered 705,000. BIP also topped all three of the key advertising demographics, but it was Nine that won the night overall (21.5% channel audience share and 30.0% network share).
