TV Wrap: Bluey returns strong on ABC, but Seven wins Sunday entertainment and the second Easter week

Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife topped entertainment on Sunday night with 604,000 metro viewers, as the network also celebrated a weekly win in the second week of Easter.

Following the reality show in overnight entertainment was a new episode of Bluey on ABC Kids, which brought in 528,000 metro viewers. A new season of the animated series launched on 9 April with 445,000 metro viewers.

Lego Masters: Grand Masters on Nine attracted 516,000 metro viewers, and topped the key advertising demo of 16-39s but tied with Nine News in the 18-49s.

Ten’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! pulled in 445,000 metro viewers, followed by Midsomer Murders on ABC with 437,000.

As mentioned, Seven Network won the week ending 15 April with a 32.4% share, followed by Nine with 26.2%, Ten with 17.2% and ABC with 15.3%.

The top-rated primary channel of the week was Seven with 23.5%, but the top-rated multichannel was 7Two with 3.5%.

This concluded the Easter ratings period, which is not traditionally included in networks’ 40-week survey calendar. The first week of Easter saw Farmer Wants A Wife going head-to-head with Lego Masters at launch. 

In overnight network shares on Sunday, Seven (28.5%) pipped Nine Network (28.1%), while ABC had 18.3% and Ten had 17.6%.

The top-rated primary channel overnight was Seven with a 17.6% share, and the top-rated multichannel was 7Mate with 3.2%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 9 April, Seven News was the #1 program nationally last Sunday with 1.196 million Total TV viewers, including 24,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 2%.

However, the program with the biggest uplift of 164% was the children’s TV series Octonauts on ABC with 222,000 Total TV audience and 21,000 on national BVOD.
