Two Dorans: ABC journo asks Twitter to ‘go easy on me’

After it was reported over the weekend that singer Adele had “walked out” of her exclusive interview with Sunrise’s Matt Doran, another journalist, Matt Doran has asked twitter users to “go easy on me”, following some not expected confusion.

This transpired after the singer, who is on the campaign trail for her newest studio album, 30, was offended after the Sunrise presenter, who flew to London alongside two cameramen, revealed to her that he hadn’t listened to any of the new music, despite travelling across the globe to speak to her about it.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Doran had been suspended for two weeks following the incident, and this morning, the ABC’s Doran, who is federal political reporter, sent the tweet out, with ‘Easy on Me’ being one of Adele’s lead singles from the new record.

Seven was contacted regarding the story in The Daily Telegraph, which stated that Adele, via Sony, has denied the network access to the footage of the “20-30 minute” interview, after paying a reported $1 million for.

Channel Seven was contacted regarding details of the reported suspension, and the airing of the interview, however had no response at time of publishing.

This story was discussed on the Mumbrellacast.
