Two new senior appointments at Ensemble

Ensemble has appointed Southern Cross Austereo’s Corey Layton as national creative strategy director, also appointing Ben Edmonds as general manager of its Melbourne operations. Layton joins the agency’s newly formed Creative Strategy Unit.

The announcement:

Sponsorship, activations and content specialist agency Ensemble has hired Southern Cross Austereo’s Corey Layton as a creative strategy director, a national position. The agency has also named Ben Edmonds as general manager of its growing Melbourne operations.

Layton and Edmonds are the latest significant appointments at Ensemble, with the agency last week announcing five new executives for the agency’s Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Layton’s role will focus on the development of creative, bespoke concepts and strategies for Ensemble clients.  He is formerly the response and activation director for Southern Cross Austereo’s Sydney and Melbourne operations which included brand and consumer engagement work for clients across traditional, digital, social and experiential platforms.

Layton, who will be based in Melbourne, becomes one of five in Ensemble Australia’s newly formed Creative Strategy Unit, led by Lauren Joyce.

As general manager of Ensemble Melbourne Ben Edmonds will oversee operations in the Melbourne market as well as business development and client relationships. He will report to national CEO Justin Ricketts and managing director Tim Hodgson. Edmonds has been with the agency for a year and prior to that he was communications director at OMD Fuse.

“These two appointments accelerate the quality and speed of our client responses and are important additions to our national growth,” said Ricketts. “Corey Layton is highly respected in the industry and Ben Edmonds is a proven talent who is highly valuable to us.”
