Under Armour’s Curry Brand launches Sesame Street-inspired footwear collection

Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour, will take over Princes Garden Court in Prahan, Melbourne on Saturday the 15th of January to celebrate the launch of a new footwear collection inspired by Sesame Street’s Muppets.

Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour, is taking over Princes Garden Court in Prahran, Melbourne on Saturday 15th January, 2022 from 10:00am-4:00pm to mark the launch of the seven-part footwear collection that brings the spirit of Sesame Street’s iconic Muppets to the basketball court. The outdoor event will be a celebration of basketball culture and will be free and open to the public to attend. Consumers are invited to take part in all the on-court action with 3-Point competition running throughout the day, as well as enjoy music, entertainment and live art.

Princes Garden will be transformed into a Curry-branded court, and will play center stage to the consumer “Shoot Like Steph” contest. The competition will be open to players of all ages and skill levels who will each have 60 seconds to shoot up to 21 balls, with a maximum of 25 points in a round. Competitors are encouraged to register early in the day to avoid disappointment. The three competitors with the highest scores on the day, will advance to the Championship Round, with the eventual winner of the 3-Point competition taking home the major prize of AUD$10,000.

Curry Brand’s mission goes beyond the court. In the spirit of “Changing the Game For Good”, Curry Brand has proudly forged a partnership in Australia with Charity Bounce, an organisation that exists to inspire positive change to overcome disadvantage for individuals and communities. At 1:00pm, consumers are invited to cheer on their favourite Australian athletes and personalities taking part in a 3-Point challenge. With every successful throw during the competition, Curry Brand will donate $100.00 to Charity Bounce. Participating in the competition are: NBA Champion and NBL MVP Andrew Bogut, UFC Featherweight Champion Alex Volkanovski, former Harlem Globetrotter Tracy Williams, former professional basketballer Corey “Homicide” Williams, actor and comedian Rob Shehadie, former Australian netballer and TV personality Carla Dziwoki, ex rugby league footballer and TV personality Eloni Vunakece and presenter Karen Ledbury.
