Vegemite gives away animal shaped stencils, continuing Thinkerbell’s ‘Tastes like Australia’ campaign

Vegemite is giving away limited edition toast stencils with the purchase of any Vegemite product at Woolworths, in the latest move by its creative agency Thinkerbell.

The stencils come in the shapes of Australian animals including an emu, kangaroo and koala, continuing the patriotic theme of Vegemite’s ‘Tastes like Australia’ campaign that launched in August 2018.

Thinkerbell chief creative tinker, Ben Couzens said: “We’ve created a product that is designed to make spreading Vegemite on toast fun, but also to ensure that kids use plenty of it.”

Vegemite marketing manager Matt Gray said: “Vegemite is one of the riches sources of B Vitamins, so any way we can encourage kids to enjoy more Vegemite for breakfast, lunch and tea is a good thing. We hope that these stencils bring fun and joy to the family breakfast table for many years to come.”

Thinkerbell won the Vegemite account in March 2018 after the brand spent 74 years with JWT (which merged with Wunderman to create Wunderman Thompson in November). The move was triggered by the purchase of Vegemite by Bega Cheese Limited from Mondelez International in January 2017.

Since Vegemite’s move, Bega has consolidated its media and creative accounts with Thinkerbell.
