ViacomCBS ANZ promotes Liz Baldwin to SVP, head of streaming

ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand has announced that Liz Baldwin will lead the strategy for new streaming platform Paramount+, which launches 11 August, in a newly created role of senior vice president, head of streaming.

Baldwin’s appointment is effective immediately, and she moves into the role having served as Network Ten’s general manager, digital since 2016.

She was previously responsible for the company’s digital strategy including the live streaming and on-demand service 10 Play.

Baldwin will continue to oversee 10 Play but will also add digital strategy for Paramount+ to her remit, as she leads the digital and streaming team at ViacomCBS.

Chief operating and commercial officer and executive vice president, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, Jarrod Villani, said: “Liz is one of the best and brightest digital media executives in Australia, with extensive experience in strategy, content and technology. Our digital media business has seen significant growth under Liz’s direction and leadership.

“She is the ideal person to lead the digital strategy for ViacomCBS in Australia and New Zealand as we continue to enhance our streaming offerings on 10 Play and soon to be launched SVOD service Paramount+.”

Chief content officer and executive vice president, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, Beverley McGarvey, added: “Liz has made an important and valuable contribution to our digital strategy over the last few years and I am delighted she has agreed to lead the streaming strategy for Paramount+.”

Baldwin, who first joined the network in 2015 as digital executive producer, said: “I am thrilled to be adding Paramount+ to my responsibilities. I am elated to be leading an enthusiastic and committed team who are working fervently and passionately towards the launch of Paramount+.

“There are many exciting opportunities that lie ahead, and I am committed to growing our digital business across 10 Play, 10 Speaks and Paramount+.”

Paramount+ will launch on 11 August for $8.99 a month, although some discounts have already been flagged for A-League members.
