Vice appoints Rachel Tuffery as head of production

Former executive production manager of The Project, Rachel Tuffery, has been appointed Vice Australia’s head of production as part of a reshuffle within the youth media company’s local operations.

With Tuffery appointed to the newly created production role, head of video Katy Roberts will now focus on content and business development.

Tuffery: “I am looking forward to applying my skills at Vice”

“I’m excited to be a part of a company where the staff all clearly love what they do, and are awesome at it,” said Tuffery who has also worked on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“After having experienced firsthand what can be achieved at The Ellen Show, and then at The Project, I am looking forward to applying my skills at Vice, freeing everyone up to do what they do best and contributing to the growth of what we all know to be, the future of media.”

Along with The Project and Ellen, Tuffery has worked with brands including Missoni, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, and Qantas.

Tuffrey was invited to join The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Los Angeles after leading production for Ellen Degeneres’s 2013 trip to Australia. After two years on The Ellen Show at Warner Brothers, she returned to Australia as line producer and then executive production manager for The Project on Ten.

Other changes at Vice will see long time staff member Wendy Syfret promoted from i-D Editor AUNZ to head of editorial, while writer Shaad D’Souza will become editor of music site Noisey.
