Virgin Mobile begins agency review, hires Euro RSCG

Virgin Mobile has expanded its agency roster, handing a project to Euro RSCG Sydney – a move that could weaken the hold of incumbent Publicis Mojo on the business.

The move comes ahead of a re-working of the brand’s “agency engagement model”, according to marketing director David Scribner.

He told Mumbrella: “We’re always on the look out for big ideas – whether that’s from our PR agency, One Green Bean, our creative agency Publicis Mojo or our media partner Starcom. We do everything through either one of those three – when we’re paying the bills, we pay one of those three agencies.”

“Euro RSCG has been helping One Green Bean on a project – both agencies are part of the Havas family,” he said.

Scribner added said that the appointment did not mean the end of its relationship with Mojo, which was behind last year’s Robin da Hood ‘Fair go for all’ campaign.

Before Euro RSCG, Starcom was the most recent addition to the Virgin Mobile roster, which was awarded the business as part of the Optus marketing review. Optus acquired Virgin Mobile Australia in 2006.
