VMO launches commuter hub offering at Manly Wharf

Digital out-of-home company, VMO,  has unveiled a set of screens across Manly Wharf, marking the first of several expansions for the company into commuter hubs and retail precincts.

The location, which is surrounded by 23 restaurants and retailers and attracts more than 6m annual visitors, will feature six VMO screens, including premium screen, Ultra, with 4k technology.

Speaking with Mumbrella, VMO’s managing director, Anthony Deeble, said while it was “a little left of centre”, the new offering provided an enormous opportunity for clients.

“As much as it’s a commuter hub and of course it’s quite an iconic one at that, it’s also a retail precinct and a gateway to a retail precinct, there’s more than 20 retail outlets there,” he explained.

“It was an opportunity to gateway to a quite large retail opportunity not just in the wharf itself, which has 23 odd retailers, but also gateway into Manly more than 6m annual passengers passing through that wharf.

“It is a little left of centre being a transit environment, and a transit environment where we can reach and impact audiences particularly in respect to their path to a retail experience. That’s always going to be attractive for us,” he said.

He said the wharf will give the brand large opportunities to role out its programmatic offering, Dart 2.0.

“We’ve tried to complement the right mix in the right location throughout the wharf to maximise the aesthetic look and feel, and we want to make sure we have really solid locations that are going to be quite impactful and valuable from a client perspective and a messaging perspective,” he added.

Deeble said the latest installation was the first of several commuter and retail environment installations to be unveiled in the near future.

“We are soon to exceed 10,000 odd screens across the business, Many Wharf is part of that committed investment in terms of growing the sale of our network,” he said.

VMO’s shop portfolio now encompasses 61 premium large format screens, including Manly Wharf, Hunter Connection and Kings Cross in Sydney.
