The announcement:

Vogue Australia has launched Baby Steps, a podcast and fertility guide for anyone trying to conceive.

Hosted by Vogue Australia’s senior beauty and health editor, Remy Rippon, and model and spokesperson, Jesinta Franklin, the podcast unpacks the myths and realities of baby-making and fertility for listeners with practical, no-nonsense advice.

Topics covered in the eight-part series include visiting your GP, ovulation, IVF, egg-freezing, miscarriage and loss, and each episode features interviews with obstetrics and fertility experts.

Ms Rippon said: “I’m currently on the rollercoaster of trying to have a baby and have been with varying degrees of success for the past two and a half years. Hearing the stories of so many women around me I felt an overwhelming need to share the ups and downs of fertility.

“Jesinta and I go on a journey with this podcast to learn everything there is to know about fertility and getting pregnant. We want this to be a guide for listeners, something we maybe didn’t have as a resource when we were trying to have a baby.

“From IVF and miscarriages to egg-freezing and contraception, Baby Steps tackles the fertility issues worth talking about, that aren’t talked about enough.”

Mrs Franklin: “I am excited that this special project, Baby Steps that Remy and I have been working on has been released. After being through my own struggles it is a conversation that I feel passionate about and I really hope that this helps even one woman or couple through their journey.”

The first episode of Baby Steps looks at everything to consider before starting to try for a baby and features Dr Melissa Overton, General Practitioner Coogee Beach Doctors, talking about when to stop contraception, visiting your GP, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, uncovering family history and whether genetic testing is beneficial.

The Baby Steps podcast is supported by Elevit.
