Wavemaker scoops Danone’s global media account

GroupM agency, Wavemaker has won the global remit for multinational food company, Danone. It is understood the win does not apply locally.

Wavemaker has secured the Danone stable of brands

Danone brands include Evian, YoPro, Two Good Yoghurt, Nutricia, and more.

This is the second win in quick succession for the agency globally, last week securing the global Audible media account, thought to be worth around $50m locally.

Wavemaker declined to comment on the move locally. Emotive also declined to comment.

In April, YoPRO celebrated its partnership as the ‘Official Yoghurt of the AFL’ in its latest campaign with the independent agency Emotive.

The campaign is the latest iteration of the brand’s ‘Every Millimetre Matters’ platform and brand anthem, following on from the success of the Australian Olympic Committee partnership in 2021.

In a presentation this year, Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone said the company had been “structurally under-investing behind our brands” for years. The chief financial, technology and data officer, Juergen Esser added that it is set to up its investment in marketing and advertising by an extra €300m (A$446m) over the next two years.

“We have been underfunding our brands, running on too little A&P. We will make sure that our brands get at least their fair share of voice.”

This article was updated after publication after it was confirmed the win did not apply locally.
