When Sky’s Chris Kenny gets it wrong on the ABC getting things wrong
Dr Mumbo does hate to be late to a party, so it pains him to only be showing up now to the big bash that is the latest round of ‘Chris Kenny versus the national broadcaster’.
In this edition, Kenny took aim at the ABC for joking about killing conservatives.
Only issue is, that’s not what the ABC was joking about at all.
Dr Mumbo advises you skip to around 6:30 if you only want to see the blunder.
Hey @chriskkenny @SkyNewsAust You have confused the word “conservators” with “conservatives” in @RadioNational light-hearted chat about art forgeries. “Conservators” are responsible for the repair and preservation of things such as art. “Conservatives” are something else entirely https://t.co/yDm4f4FkEB

The offending tweet has been removed, but as Dr Mumbo knows, the internet never forgets.
Well Dr. Mumbo, you’ve been masquerading up till now as the media-marketing journalist, neutral in perspective and fearless, but you just unmasked yourself as one of the ABC-esque luvvies whose world of virtue-signalling, moral posturing around every faddish, fashionable ‘social justice’ issue gets mwahs and “right-on!”s from fellow luvvies, but dry retching from the other 98%. Notably some of your staffers are revealing the same tendencies in the content appearing on Mumbrella. Good luck with that in the twilight of your ideological era. It started well, but all good things come to an end.

Bring on the election Robert… we’ll show both you and Kenny the direction the nation is heading.

Do you ever stop to self-reflect, Robert?

That’s what I love (to hate) about the alt-right and their ilk (like Robert). Never let inconvenient facts stand in the way of a good ol’ ideological rant!

It somehow does not surprise me that a rabid right winger is so ignorant and paranoid that he mishears the word “conservators” as “conservatives”, in spite of the obvious contextual cues. It is perhaps a little more surprising that such a lamentable lapse should make it all the way to air on Kenny’s segment on Sky. This speaks volumes about the intellectual and editorial standards on that particular program at least. In passing, I note that Kenny’s own son, Liam, has described him as “a staunchly neo-conservative, anti-progress, anti-worker defender of the status quo” and an “unrelenting apologist for the Liberal Party”.
