Will & Woody to kick off Kiis national drive on Monday

Perth’s former Hit network breakfast co-hosts Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw will start their new drive show on ARN’s Kiis FM this Monday.

McMahon and Whitelaw were announced as the new drive show hosts for the network in October last year. The pair had been running breakfast with co-host Heidi Anderson for three years.

The duo commence their show on Kiis FM nationally on Monday 8 January

They replace Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek who left the station for an extended drive time show with Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little on the Hit network.

In a post on McMahon and Whitelaw’s Facebook page this week, the pair said they weren’t sure what they were going to “dish up”.

“But with a pinch of banter, a sprinkling of above-average gags, and a full cup of spontaneity, we know it’s gonna be some tasty biz,” the post said.

A separate post featured images of younger versions of the duo, aiming to generate some hype around the launch of their show.

ARN’s national content director Duncan Campbell told Mumbrella late last year he got a “buzz” from the duo upon first meeting them in Perth.

He’s confident the duo will successfully run across all of ARN’s Kiis network, including heritage stations 96FM in Perth, Mix102.3 in Adelaide and 97.3FM in Brisbane.

“The industry needs to bring in some youthful energy, if you like, and I’m glad we were the network that decided to do that,” Campbell said.

“The heritage stations like Kiis and 97.3 and Mix – they are going to have a new national drive show but that new drive show is going to have a big breakfast show audiences spilling into that day.”

The show will run from 4pm-6pm Monday to Friday.

It is still unclear when Hughes and Langbroek will commence their new show with Southern Cross Austereo.
