Women’s Health & Fitness launches iPad app

Women’s publication Women’s Health & Fitness magazine  has launched an iPad app.

The announcement:

Australia’s longest established, dedicated women’s health and fitness magazine is claiming another first, leading its category to launch an iPad® application and interactive edition of its freshly revamped print title.

Blitz Publications & Multi-Media Group’s Women’s Health & Fitness magazine this month publishes the first iPad®-exclusive Australian women’s health and fitness magazine, joining an elite group of just 72 Australian titles across all categories.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of embracing technology that enables us to offer even greater value to both advertisers and readers,” says publisher Silvio Morelli.

The value will be further buoyed by a taut, toned, integrated editorial environment comprising more content that is tailored to specific reader interests though new sub-sections. A fresh, contemporary look and feel complements changes made since the August arrival of editor Rebecca Long.

“Combine the iPad® edition’s interactivity with a tighter editorial environment ideal for integrated promotions, and you have a real force to be reckoned with,” Morelli says.

Women’s Health & Fitness magazine recently flexed its competitive muscle, rising 19.7 per cent in the latest Roy Morgan readership poll, against a category trend of declines.

From the ‘Valentine’s Special’ February issue, new and revamped sections spanning health, fitness, nutrition, beauty, fashion, sex and relationships, wellbeing, travel and food news are accompanied by iPad®-exclusive rich media content including video workouts, meal plans and expert tutorials.

A rolling subscription model, in addition to a per-issue purchase option, will guarantee delivery of advertisers’ messages to subscribers upon publication. While the app is free, the magazine is priced from $5.49 for a single issue to $3.33 as part of a subscription – significantly less than the $7.50 newsstand cover price.

Blitz Publications & Multi-Media chose to work with leading Australian digital publishing platform Oomph, to create its iPad® magazine.
