WPP launches The Metaverse Foundry, available to all WPP clients and agencies

WPP’s Hogarth has launched The Metaverse Foundry, a global resource available to all of WPP’s clients and agencies.

The team encompasses over 700 creatives, producers, visual artists, developers and technologists who aim to deliver brand experiences for clients in the Metaverse.

Hogarth CEO Justin Ricketts told Mumbrella over email: “With more and more people spending time in these new platforms and channels (broadly defined as the metaverse) – many of our clients have been asking us how they should ‘show-up’ and engage in this new world. The metaverse is very much here and we’re here to help our clients start planning how they participate in it.

“Over the last year we have been strategically building up our capabilities in this space and designing our solution – which at its broadest, is the Metaverse Foundry that we launched today. It is very much a global solution.

“In market (e.g. AUNZ), we’ve really been focusing on the creative, design and activation capabilities which are then supported and underpinned by our global network of visual artists, developers and technologists for increased scale (capacity and capability) and the underlying technical and executional capabilities.”

The core team that will be driving the Metaverse Foundry locally is content director Emily Harridge, content creative director Barney Howells and national content director Iain Todd.

Hogarth global CEO Richard Glasson said: “This is a very exciting time to be in the production and content creation business. We are living through extraordinary change, and our clients have whole new worlds to navigate and radically new ways to engage with their customers. At Hogarth we are perfectly positioned to launch our clients into these new channels and create incredible experiences for consumers globally.”

Mark Read, CEO of WPP, said: “Our clients are already seizing the opportunities to connect with their customers presented by the metaverse, and seeking partners who can bring experiences to life in the most creative and compelling ways. The Metaverse Foundry has unrivalled scale and expertise in building these experiences, and clearly differentiates Hogarth and WPP from our peers in this critical growth area for our industry.”
