Godwin left the agency at the end of 2020 and has since been named the Melbourne CEO of Bastion Banjo. Further leadership changes at the agency include the departure of CEO John Gutteridge in June of last year with Lee Leggett stepping into the role. Chief financial officer Jeremy Jenkinson also joined the Bastion Collective in October 2020 and national chief creative officer Simon Langley joined independent agency Edge in September, being replaced by João Braga.
Muncaster’s appointment comes after ‘an extensive search’ for a new managing director.
Leggett said: “We met with many talented and ambitious people in our search, all with a wide range of different experiences and qualifications. The final decision to appoint internally is a real testament to Nick’s strong leadership of our Melbourne team and clients for the past six years, and the amazing job he has done so far.
“For anyone who has worked alongside Nick, you will know for yourself how talented he is. Our Melbourne office is in great hands.”
Muncaster added: “I am excited by the opportunity and humbled by the support from our talented team and ambitious clients. Most of all, I’m looking forward to my next chapter within this dynamic industry and business. I am proud of our continued momentum at Wunderman Thompson and look forward to continuing to inspire growth across our client’s business in 2021.”
Prior to joining JWT, Muncaster spent eight years at Ogilvy.
