Yellow Treehouse sweeps effectiveness awards

Auckland-based Colenso BBDO had an excellent night at yesterday’s Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards winning the Platinum Award for Best-in-Show and six awards in total.

The Platinum Award went to the Yellow Treehouse, along with two Golds and two Bronzes.

The integrated Yellow Treehouse campaign also involved sister agency Aim Proximity. It was based around the building of a treehouse restaurant using only suppliers who could be reached via the Yellow directory on mobile, online or in the print edition.

Brent Smart, Colenso BBDO’s MD, said: “For Yellow Treehouse to be recognised creatively at Axis and One Show and now to be recognised for its effectiveness, that makes it truly great work.”

Meanwhile, the first round of judging for Australia’s effectiveness awards, the Effies, run by the Advertising Federation of Australia, has now been completed, with the shortlist due to be published on Monday. Speaking after the AFA’s AGM last night, the organisation’s national chair Belinda Rowe said the quality of entries had risen following the shakeup to the format. She said: “People really are linking creativity to strong effectiveness measures.”
