Zenith promotes Elizabeth Baker to national head of investment, filling void left by Anthony Ellis

Zenith’s Elizabeth Baker, who has been with the agency for 17 years, has been promoted to national head of investment.

She replaces Anthony Ellis, who stepped across to become managing director of Publicis Media Exchange after Sarah Keith’s departure.

Baker was previously the Sydney office’s head of investment, and her replacement will be announced shortly, the Publicis Groupe agency said, since her elevation is effective immediately.

Baker has been at Zenith for the best part of two decades

“Lizzie has been with Zenith for 17 years and has been instrumental in the development of our agency’s investment product and expertise,” Zenith’s CEO Nickie Scriven, to whom Baker will report, said.

“I am delighted to welcome her to our national executive team, and I look forward to her ongoing contributions to Zenith, delivering unmatched value and growth to our clients.”

Baker said the national role will be a welcome challenge, adding: “In an ever-changing media environment, I look forward to the challenge of continuing to find, in collaboration with our media partners, smarter and more innovative ways to deliver the best investment outcomes for our clients.

“I am thrilled to take on this national role. It will be a privilege to lead what is an exceptionally-talented investment team across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.”

Recently, Zenith’s holding company, Publicis, released its first half results, recording a 13% drop in organic growth in the second quarter, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Chief executive Arthur Sadoun was confident in the business’ ability to brace itself against the impact of the crisis though.

Last month, the company admitted that 34 roles were ‘at risk’ of redundancy locally, but said it has saved approximately 80 jobs through a number of cost-saving measures. A few weeks ago, Mumbrella revealed that Publicis is competing in a two-way pitch against Group M’s bespoke solution, Media Lab, for Westpac’s media account.
